Hi Guys

I have been struggling with this blasted project for more than a month now. I cant seem to get the light effect that i want.

Here are 2 renders

I changed a few things around but no luck

I had to turn off raytracing in the above renders cuz if it is on then everything is black with a slight glow inside the lampshade. I finally removed the lightbulb object that i had made for the lamp from the scene and switched raytracing on but then the whole place lights up and looks like the light source is outside of the lamp like the first render.

Any tips? .blend file included so it can be played around with and then please show me what you guys have come up with.

Thanks

Jono

One thing you can try to do is to have lights for diferent objects on deferent layers. then put the objects in deferent layers and make the lights on that layers that it only effect that layer. But I will see what I can tomorrow
di you ty it in blender 2.5. See blender mag #27. there is a link on Blender.org at the moment for #28 that is just relieced. #27 is all about light setup in blender.
Where do I find the mag?
